House Thoholte
The listed Thoholte house is located in Geseke in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
Local researchers can trace the history of the house back to the 14th century. In 1714 the main house was built by the rent master Johannes Otto Fischer. The northern part of the house dates from the 16th century. During this time the house was called Grevenhof. The adjoining historic half-timbered house with a half- hipped roof and horizontal dome was built in the 18th century.
At the beginning of the 17th century, the Prince-Bishop of Paderborn Dietrich von Fürstenberg acquired the property. The Lords of Hoerde were also among the owners. The house owes its current name to the merchant Johann Philipp Thoholte. In 1856 the house came into his possession. His son later temporarily ran a cigar factory there. In 1978 the city of Geseke took over the house and subsequently had the property restored. In August 2011, the building was monument of the month in Westphalia-Lippe . Currently there is a restaurant in the house.
