House with no properties

The house without properties (French: Maison sans qualités ) is a listed residential building in Cologne-Müngersdorf .

The building located at Kämpchensweg 58 in this suburb of Cologne was built in 1994/95 according to plans by the architect OM Ungers .

The two-storey, cubic plastered building with no visible roof finish, built on a rectangular floor plan, is the architect's second home. The structure and floor plan are characterized by clarity and factual consistency, with which the mirror-image room layout corresponds. Around the central square hall, the building was developed from the inside out and the opposing outer sides designed symmetrically. The long sides are four-axis, the narrow sides are two-axis and each symmetrically divided by high wing doors. Inside, precious materials such as stucco lustro for the walls and limestone, terracotta and walnut parquet for the flooring were used, with the precision of their processing according to Unger's expression "pure architecture". The basement contained a swimming pool with adjoining massage and relaxation rooms, which are now the library of the Dr. Speck Literature Foundation.
