The Haus zum Mohren is a listed building in Aachen .

The house is at Hof 4. It was built after 1656 after medieval Aachen was badly damaged by a city fire . The building has three floors in five axes. It has a classical plastered facade .

At the beginning of the 18th century there was a fabric dealer in the building. He used the first floor as a warehouse, the second floor and attic for living rooms and bedrooms.

The name "Haus zum Mohren", which is supposed to remind of one of the three kings , also comes from this time . The naming repeatedly leads to complaints because the word Mohr is racist and refers to the colonial and slave times .

Today there is a café in the house. (As of 2017)
