In 1889 Immanuel Hahn took over the mechanical workshop of Carl Haushahn in Stuttgart and initially built floor and decimal scales , followed by the construction of the first elevators and the development of his own electrical drives in 1895. The first electric elevators with button controls were manufactured from 1900. In 1922, the first high-rise elevators were built in Germany, for example in the Stuttgart station tower, and controls were developed for them. The first high-speed elevators in Germany were built from 1929. The first panoramic elevators were manufactured from 1969, and crane construction was discontinued a year later. In 1988, the warehouse technology division was spun off as its own system house (from 1999 the independent Viastore systems , owner Christoph Hahn-Woernle). From 1992 planetary gears were used as drive units in elevator construction, and machine room - less elevators were developed from 1997. In 1998 the company was taken over by the Swiss Schindler group. The development of a two-brand strategy for Germany has been driven forward since 2002. Haushahn took over former business operations from Schindler and combined them to form the Haushahn Group, which operates throughout Germany.
