Skin absorption

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During skin absorption , substances are absorbed ( resorbed ) through the skin .
This can be expressly desired , for example, in the case of cosmetic or pharmaceutical active ingredients, but is on the other hand undesirable in the case of contact poisons .

Skin resorption works particularly effectively with fat-soluble substances. For this reason, fat-soluble toxins can be absorbed better through the skin than purely water-soluble toxins.
