The Havran Dam ( Havran Barajı in Turkish ) is a dam on the Havran Çayı, a tributary of the Aegean Sea , in the Balıkesir Province in northwestern Turkey .
The Havran Dam is located 7 km east of the city of Havran in the hinterland of the coast. It was built between 1995 and 2009 to irrigate an area of 3,060 ha and to protect against floods . The barrier structure is a 63.5 m high stone embankment dam with a clay core . The dam volume is 1.05 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 3.15 km² with normal damming. The storage space is 66.5 million m³.
