Hayati Boyacıoğlu

Hayati Boyacıoğlu (* 1960 in Istanbul , Turkey ) is a German-Turkish cartoonist , playwright and journalist .

Life

Boyacıoğlu has lived in the Federal Republic of Germany since 1978. Here he studied German and journalism at the Free University of Berlin . His first piece Kanaken sind Supermänner (1985) was performed in Ludwigshafen am Rhein in both German and Turkish.

Boyacioglu worked as a journalist for the Turkish newspapers Hürriyet and Star and for radio. Boyacioglus youth gangs in Berlin (1990) received a “special award for radio reportage” from the Örsan-Öymen-Preis of Westdeutscher Rundfunk . The Turkish-German works as a caricaturist for Die Brücke , but his work also appears in other print media, as well as calendars, school books and brochures. Hayati Boyacıoğlu has been the editor of the humorous magazine Don Quichotte , a German-Turkish satirical magazine, since it was published in March 2004 .
