Hayri Ragıp Candemir or just Hayri Ragıp (* 1908 in Istanbul ; † 20th century ) was a Turkish football player . Although Candemir was self-grown by Galatasaray Istanbul and played for them briefly, he spent almost his entire career at Vefa Istanbul and is therefore associated with this club.

Player career

society

Candemir attended Galatasaray High School and played in the youth department of the traditional Galatasaray Istanbul Club , which was founded in 1905 by students from Galatasaray High School. Word of his footballing talent spread quickly in the Galatasaray community, so that he was accepted into the squad for the Galatasaray football team in the first half of the 1920s. At the time of his entry into the professional squad, his club played in the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German Istanbul Football League ). Since there was no international professional league in Turkey at that time, there were regional leagues instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. Candemir failed to establish himself as a regular player and did not play a competitive game for Galatasaray. Despite this situation, he made his debut for the Turkish national team in November 21924 .

In 1925 he moved to Vefa Istanbul within the league . For this club, which merged with Kumkapı SK to Vefa Kumkapı SK in the summer of 1932 and renamed itself again to Vefa SK in 1935, he played until the summer of 1936.

National team

Candemir began his national team career in 1924 with a commitment for the Turkish national team in a friendly against the Bulgarian national team . By September 1926 he completed two more international matches and was then no longer nominated.
