Hayward City Hall

The Hayward City Hall in Hayward , California , is the third town hall history and is located right next to the station of the Bay Area Rapid Transit .

The building with a limestone and granite facade was constructed for US $ 29 million from 1996 and opened in January 1998. The roof consists of 60% recycled copper. Since the Hayward City Hall is only 200 m away from a fault , it was built to be particularly earthquake-proof, so that it can withstand tremors with a magnitude of 7.5 on the Richter scale without any loss of functionality. In addition to the city administration, there is the John O'Lague Galleria in the building with changing exhibitions.
