Heßgasse (Graz)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heßgasse is the former name of a street in the fourth district of Lend in Graz .

The now nameless street runs as a cross street between Laudongasse and Starhemberggasse . It was named after the Austrian field marshal Heinrich Freiherr von Heß (1788–1870).

The alley became famous for its four evangelical houses, which have since been revitalized. As early as 1978, Wolfgang Pucher , pastor of the Graz Vinzent parish , made city politicians aware of the situation of those living there, and above all it was difficult for the residents to find work with this address. In 1986, Heßgasse was deleted from the city map for socio-political reasons . The houses of the since then nameless alley are assigned to the two neighboring alleys by post.
