Hegemer Mar is a lake in the Netherlands .
location
The Heegermeer is located in the province of Friesland between the towns of Heeg in the northeast and Koudum in the southwest. The shallow lake is approx. 12 km long and up to 2 km wide, its area is approx. 15 square kilometers. The Johan Willem Friso Canal flows through the lake to the west of Stavoren , so that watercraft can connect to the North Sea via the IJsselmeer .
