Army Personnel Office (Austria)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Army Personnel Office (HPA) is an agency directly subordinate to the Federal Ministry for National Defense and Sport (BMLVS) and not part of the Army Organization (Bundesheer). It is responsible for personnel matters (personnel recruitment, planning, supply). It has offices in Vienna (management), Graz , Wels and Innsbruck . The HPA emerged from the Army Fees Office (HGA) in spring 2002 when its competencies and tasks were expanded. The long-standing head of the HGA (1989–2002) Councilor Thomas Mais was since then also head of the Army Personnel Office. Brigitte Habermayer-Binder followed him in 2013. Stefan Chavanne has headed the office since 2014 .
