Heidelberg Sachsenspiegel
The Heidelberger Sachsenspiegel (Cod. Pal. Germ. 164 of the Heidelberg University Library ) is one of the four well-known illuminated manuscripts of the Sachsenspiegel by Eike von Repgow . It was written on parchment in East Central Germany at the beginning of the 14th century and provided with colored pen drawings. Southern Thuringian influences can also be seen in the writing language. In 1571 it is recorded as a volume in Ulrich Fugger's library , which was set up in the galleries of the Heiliggeistkirche . Two thirds of the original 92-sheet manuscript are missing today. It shows clear signs of use.
In the first part feudal law the sections are obtained 1-10 §1 and 14 §3-24 §4, in the second part Landrecht the sections II §2 19 - 22 §5, II 48 § 12 - III 51 57 § § 1 and III 2-91 §3 still available. On fol. 30v stands From the Lord's Birth , the ingredient of a younger editor to preface 4 of the Sachsenspiegel ( Nu vor nemet umme der Herren gebuort von deme lande czu sachsen ... czu lantrechte or czu lenrecht ). This was originally followed by today's first position with feudal law.
