The Petrašiūnai (lit. Petrašiūnų kapinės ) cemetery is located in the second largest Lithuanian city ​​of Kaunas , in the east of the Petrašiūnai district . The area is nine hectares, radial planning. To the northeast and east of the cemetery is Marija Gimbutienė Street, and to the south is a pine forest . Many monuments are recognized as art monuments.

history

The cemetery was built around 1939-1940 and consecrated in 1941. From 1955 to 1961 it was expanded to the east and south.
