Raimundas Samulevičius
Raimundas Samulevičius (born September 25, 1937 in Kaunas , † February 2, 1981 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian playwright and prose writer.
Life
Samulevičius spent his childhood with his grandmother in the village of Prauliai in the district of Jonava . He studied at the station elementary school in Baldininkai and then at the Jonava middle school . In 1954 his short story was printed in the Rajong community newspaper “Pergalės vėliava” (editor was his class teacher R. Pečiulis). Samulevičius studied at the Lietuvos veterinarijos akademija and from 1955 to 1962 worked as a beekeeper in the kolkhoz of the Jonava district. In 1973 he graduated from the Maxim Gorki Literature Institute in Moscow .
In February 1981 he was shot dead in the KGB apartment.
In 1997 the 6th Jonava Middle School in Rimkai was renamed after his name (now Raimundas Samulevičius Secondary School Jonava).
