Baldininkai (from baldas , furniture ) or Fabriko mikrorajonas (dt. ' Factory - microrajon ') is a district of Jonava ( Kaunas district , Lithuania ).

Location and inhabitants

Baldininkai is a residential area in the northeast of the city, along the railway road (railway line Kaišiadorys - Liepāja ), between the districts of Geležinkelio stotis , Lietava , Girelė and the settlement of the forestry office . Baldininkai is a furniture industry area in the city and the district's wood industry center.

The main streets are Fabriko (in Soviet times: Juri-Gagarin ), Geležinkelio and Mokyklos streets, other Topolių and Mažoji streets. There is a pedestrian viaduct across the railway to Lietavos and Žeimių -takas streets.

The Baldininkai electoral district No. 13 (lit. Baldininkų rinkimų apylinkė No. 13 ) has 1,178 eligible voters (as of 2012).

Organizations

There are a few companies in Baldininkai: closed joint stock company UAB "Baldai Jums" (furniture), UAB "Medienos staklės" (woodworking), UAB "Jonavos stalius" ( woodworking ), UAB "Namų tekstilė" (textile), UAB "Jonavos energetika" (Energy industry). In the former parking lot of the UAB bus company “Jonavos autobusai” there is the Ūkininkų market (“farmers market”). There is a secondary school with 317 students and 37 teachers (as of 2013/2014), and a children's home with 56 children.

history

The town of Jonava developed as a center of the timber industry and handicrafts at the beginning of the 19th century. Carpenters, carpenters, carpenters and joiners all worked here. A matchstick factory was opened in 1912 . The Swedish businessman J. Krüger inherited the match factory from his father in 1913 and continued to operate. In 1946 this factory became a furniture factory, which was converted into the Soviet-Lithuanian furniture combine Jonava in 1958 . It later built its own culture house (club) for the activities of the company's employees. In 1965 the Jonava Music School was founded in the Furniture Combination Club. In the 1970s, the combine with 1,100 employees (1977) was one of the largest timber industry companies in Soviet Lithuania .

After Lithuania's independence from the state was regained, the company was privatized and split into many companies. The largest successor, the company UAB "Baldai Jums" (Eng. "Furniture for you") with approx. 400 employees (2011), is now one of the largest Lithuanian furniture manufacturers. It has 35,000 square meters of company premises. The company also has its own wood drying facility. It produces body furniture (living room, bedroom and children's room furniture) from combined materials (birch and oak). Furniture facades are made of solid wood and remaining parts are made of veneered chipboard.

Lietavos secondary school

In 1952 the station elementary school Jonava was transferred to J.-Gagarin-Straße. In 1955 the school became a 7 year old school, and in 1960 an 8 year old school. In 1970 the sports hall was built. From 1970 the school was called the 3rd Jonava Middle School . It was a secondary school with a high school diploma. One led to the university entrance qualification. In the 1982/1983 school year 1,150 students studied and 62 teachers worked here. There were a total of 25 rows of high school graduates. Among the graduates are bank manager Arnoldas Burkovskis (* 1967), art historian Vydas Dolinskas (* 1970), entrepreneur Andrius Janukonis (* 1971) and others. a.

In 2000 the school was reorganized into a secondary school . Since 2001 the school has been called "Lietavos" secondary school Jonava, named after the Lietava stream near Upninkai in the Jonava district .
