Žeimiai (dt. Banknotes ) is a small town ( miestelis ) in the district of Jonava , on the Jonava - Šėta road . It is the center of the Žeimiai district . There is the Catholic Church Žeimiai (built in 1906) and the insurgent chapel (with 2 floors), the Žeimiai secondary school , a library, a cultural center, an ambulance, a post office (LT-55066), the Žeimiai manor with a park. The Lankesa flows to the west . The Žeimiai linden is a natural monument.

Žeimiai was mentioned in a document in 1319 by Maciej Stryjkowski (1547–1593) when describing the battle of Gediminas with the Crusader order . In 1363 Zeymen was mentioned in historical sources. In the 16th century there was a school of Franciscan Reformates .
