Lietuviškoji tarybinė enciklopedija
Lietuviškoji tarybinė enciklopedija ( LTE ) is a Lithuanian general encyclopedia , edited by Mokslo ir enciklopedijų Leidykla (1976–1985), at the time of Soviet Lithuania . The successor to the LTE is the Lithuanian universal encyclopedia Visuotinė lietuvių enciklopedija (VLE).
The LTE comprises 13 volumes with 1,000 pages each and color and black and white illustrations . The aims of the encyclopedia were "to provide knowledge of the world system on the basis of which it would be possible to form scientific materialistic views, to further develop socialist internationalism and Soviet patriotism".
