Vydas Dolinskas

Vydas Dolinskas (born May 8, 1970 in Jonava ) is a Lithuanian cultural historian and museum director.

Life

After graduating from high school from 1977 to 1988 at the 3rd Middle School in Baldininkai , Dolinskas graduated from 1988 to 1993 with a degree in history at the Vilniaus universitetas and in 1992 studied at the Institute for Art History at the University of Salzburg . From 1993 to 1998 he did his doctorate at the Faculty of History at VU. From 1994 to 1996 he continued his education at the Free University of Berlin and from 2006 to 2008 in the Wawel Castle , visited the Secret State Archive of Prussian Cultural Heritage .

Since 1996 he has been teaching at the Chair for Medieval History at VU. From 1993 to 1997 he was senior laboratory assistant in the Department of History for the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the Institute of History of Lithuania. From 1998 to 2008 he worked in the Lithuanian Art Museum as an employee and head of a department. Since 2009 he has been director of the National Museum “ Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania ”.
