The Möbelkombinat Jonava (lit. Jonavos baldų Kombatas , JBK ) was a combine of the furniture industry in Jonava , in the Baldininkai district ; a historic company in Soviet Lithuania .

history

In 1946 the Jonava match factory became a furniture factory, which in 1958 was converted into the "Jonava Furniture Combine". A new settlement was built at the combine. The company developed active cultural activity. The combine had its own cultural center (club). It was the city's cultural center. The Jonava Music School had its rooms in the club.

In the 1970s, the combine was one of the largest companies in Lithuania and had 1,100 employees (in 1977). The production value was 11.2 million rubles . The combine sold furniture to the Union Republics of Latvia , Estonia , Russia , Belarus and exported to Hungary , Mongolia , Denmark and Yemen . Products from the combine won awards at exhibitions in Paris , London and Leipzig . From 1980 the combine sponsored the local basketball team " Jonavos SK Malsta " of the second Lithuanian basketball league.

After Lithuania declared independence, the combine was privatized. Successor companies were "Jonavos baldai" and, from 1994 onwards, several private companies. “Jonavos baldai” went bankrupt in 2000. UAB “Baldai Jums” and other companies settled on the company premises. UAB "Baldai Jums" achieved 5 million euros in 2002. 98% of the furniture is exported.
