Vytautas Paliūnas

Vytautas Paliūnas (born August 13, 1930 in Kėdainiai ; † March 12, 2005 ) was a Lithuanian engineer and politician .

Life

After graduating from high school in Kėdainiai in 1949, Paliūnas completed his diploma studies at the Politechnikos institutas in Kaunas (KPI) from 1949 to 1954 and worked as an assistant at the KPI's hydrotechnology department . From 1958 to 1961 he graduated from the postgraduate at VODGEO Research Institute in Moscow . From 1961 he taught at the KPI. In 1963 he received his doctorate in Moscow. From 1972 he was a professor . In 1983 he was awarded the Soviet Lithuanian State Prize.

From 1990 to 1992, Paliūnas was a deputy in the Seimas , selected in the Panemunė constituency . From 1995 to 1996 he was a member of the Kaunas City Council .

His grave is in the Petrašiūnai cemetery .
