Antanas Karoblis

Antanas Karoblis (born August 17, 1940 in Daujėnai , Biržai district ; † June 19, 2007 in Kaunas ) was a Lithuanian social democratic politician .

Life

From 1946 to 1947 he studied in Daujėnai and from 1951 to 1957 in Joniškėlis , from 1957 to 1958 at the Panevėžys Middle School . Because of his anti-Soviet activities, he was not accepted to the Vilniaus universitetas (VU). After correcting the biography, he studied at the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas from 1958 , but after two months he had to leave the institute. From 1959 to 1961 he worked in the Purviai - Guodžiai peat area near Biržai and in Pasvalys as a melioration worker . In 1960 he was a teacher at the Žaideliai school . From 1960 to 1966 he completed his studies at the mathematics faculty of the VU. From 1973 to 1990 he taught at the Kauno politechnikos institutas , from 1989 to 1991 Vice-Rector of the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas .

From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Seimas . From 2000 to 2003 he was a member of the council of the Kaunas district community .

From 1998 he was a member of the LSDP .

His grave is in the Petrašiūnai cemetery .
