Petrašiūnai is a district of Kaunas , Lithuania . The territory has 330 hectares. There is the Petrašiūnai cemetery , a Catholic church, library.

history

Petrašiūnai was an industrial area in Soviet Lithuania . The paper manufacturer Kauno popieriaus fabrikas had 1,300 employees (1977), Kauno ketaus liejykla , the largest metal-iron foundry in the Baltic countries, 1,780 employees (1984). Until 1997 there was the 2nd adult education school (now a department of the Kaunas adult education center ). In 2004 the Kaunas Municipality Council decided that the new port should be in Petrašiūnai.
