The adult education center Kaunas (lit. VšĮ Kauno suaugusiųjų mokymo centras , KSMC ) is a state general education high school in the Lithuanian second largest city Kaunas , the largest organization for adult education in Lithuania. The legal form is viešoji įstaiga . In the center is the Museum of the History of Adult Education in Lithuania . It is also taught in the Kauno tardymo izoliatorius prison . The center works in two shifts. There is a distance education department .
history
On August 15, 1997, the 1st adult education school in Kaunas and the 2nd adult education school (in Šančiai and Petrašiūnai ) were reorganized based on a board resolution (No. 482 of June 24, 1997) of the municipality of Kaunas . In February 1999 the center got new rooms in Aleksotas . In the school year 2004/2005 2999 students studied, in 2005/2006 about 2,398 students, in 2010/2011 about 1579 students and in 2011/2012 about 1052 students. In 2011 there were 174 employees.
In May 2012, secondary education was accredited by the Ministry of Education of Lithuania . In the school year 2011/2012 304 were school-leaving certificates to the graduates and 109 high school issued -Testimonies. In July 2012, the Kaunas City Council confirmed the school statutes. In August 2012 the center was approved for formal vocational training . Classrooms for sewing , knitting , photography , woodwork and ceramics have been set up in the center. In 2012/2013 951 students learned in 24 classes.
