Heidelberg Science Forum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Heidelberg Science Forum (IWH) is an institution of the University of Heidelberg with an associated conference center . As the university's communication center, it offers scientists from all disciplines the opportunity to exchange ideas internationally and interdisciplinary.

The conference center in Heidelberg's old town is an Art Nouveau villa with a large garden, below Heidelberg Castle. It was handed over to Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in 1986 on the occasion of its 600th anniversary and has since hosted more than 1200 conferences. It combines a large lecture hall with workshop and common rooms and a guest house for around 20 people.

A special feature of the Heidelberg Forum are the three Hengstberger Symposia , which are held annually by young scientists from the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität. They are financed from prize money that young scientists can apply for in June each year.
