Heike Gebhard (born March 22, 1954 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German state politician ( SPD ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Origin and occupation

Heike Gebhard did her Abitur in 1972 at the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen. From 1972 to 1979 she studied mathematics and economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Here she completed her studies in 1979 as a qualified mathematician. From 1979 to 1983 she worked as a research assistant and personal advisor to the rector of the University of Essen. In 1983 Heike Gebhard was given the position of head of department at the Hans Böckler Foundation . She held this position until 1991. Since 1998 Heike Gebhard has worked as a research assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen as managing director of the Essen College for Gender Studies and is currently on leave to fulfill her state parliament mandate. Gebhard is married and has four children.

Party and organizations

Heike Gebhard has been a member of the SPD since 1972. In 1974 she was deputy chairwoman of the Jusos in the SPD in the sub-district of Gelsenkirchen. From 1977 to 1980 she was chairwoman of the state association of Jusos in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the SPD sub-district of Gelsenkirchen she was a member of the executive committee from 1975 to 1985 and from 1992 to 1994 and since 1996.

From 2006 to 2010 Heike Gebhard was deputy chairwoman of the Gelsenkirchen SPD. In the Working Group of Social Democratic Women ( AsF ) she has been chairman in Gelsenkirchen since 2006, chairwoman of the Western Westphalia region since 2007, and since 2006 also a member of the regional executive committee of the AsF in North Rhine-Westphalia. On March 13, 2010 she was elected the new chairman of the Gelsenkirchen SPD with 94.9% of the vote.

Heike Gebhard is an honorary member of the supervisory board of the Katholische Kliniken Emscher Lippe (KKEL) and an assessor in the subdistrict board of the workers' welfare organization (AWO) Gelsenkirchen / Bottrop. She is also a member of the ver.di union .

Mandates

Before working as a member of the state parliament, Heike Gebhard was a member of the Advisory Board for the Homeless and Refugees of the City of Gelsenkirchen.

Heike Gebhard has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since 2005 . She chairs the Labor, Health and Social Affairs Committee and is a member of the Budget and Finance Committee.
