The Heimatmuseum Meuselwitz was opened on December 6th, 1996 on the initiative of the Heimatverein in Meuselwitz in Thuringia in two old half-timbered houses at Neugasse 1 and 3 near the Martinskirche . These are among the oldest houses in the city and used to be weavers' houses. The rooms are thematically structured. Prehistory and early history, urban development, mining, craft and industry.

In December 1994, the renovation of the building, which was renovated in October 1993, began. Since the complete completion and the inauguration in December 1996, the exhibits have been presented in the museum. They were exhibited in the old mill until 1984, then initially placed temporarily and exhibited in H.-Heine-Straße since 1993.
