The local history museum "Schwarzes Tor" in Sankt Georgen in the Black Forest is a museum in an original Black Forest farmhouse from the 19th century .

The museum presents life in a farmhouse in the Black Forest at that time. There is a bedroom with relatively small beds , as the people were very small back then, unlike us today. In addition, the museum shows an old kitchen with historical “kitchen appliances”, a farmhouse parlor (corresponds to our living room today ) and a clock room with a clock workshop, as the art of clock making in the Black Forest was extremely famous. A clock collection from the 17th to 19th centuries can also be seen here. The museum also shows old Black Forest handicrafts such as straw weaving and basket weaving.

The museum is located in the city center of Sankt Georgen and is therefore not structured in the same way as the Black Forest open-air museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach , where you can also see historical agriculture .
