The museum is housed in the village community center, a former farmhouse. The museum is run by a sponsoring association. The exhibition area is around 110 m² and divided into four rooms.

In the first room there are exhibits on schools, churches and associations. The collection of around 300 historical cast iron plates in the second room is particularly remarkable. Craftsmen's utensils and tools can be seen in the third room. The fourth room deals with the history of mining . In addition to plans and photos, the miners' tools can be seen. There is also a mineral collection. Agricultural and forestry equipment can be seen in the hallway of the building.

The museum collection on the subject of mining and the associated archive are essential elements for understanding the extraction of lead and zinc ores carried out in Wulmeringhausen from 1750 to 1903, the local pits Gottesgabe 1 and Gottesgabe 2 were of national importance and were already delivering ores outside of the region in the 19th century Germany. In addition, the museum deals with mining throughout the Olsberg district, which in the 19th century was the decisive economic factor for the region and in the trade in ores and products far beyond that.
