Heimbzen

Heimbzen , Heinzen, Heimzen or Meimmetze was a German measure of the volume of grain. It belonged to the Saxon volume measures . In Merseburg a distinction was made between the Stifts-Heimbzen and the Amt-Heimbzen. There was a slight difference between the two measurements. In Bad Lauchstädt , too, a distinction was made between large, small and urban dimensions.

  • 5 Heimzen = 4 bushels (Dresdner)
  • 1 Heinzen = 8 measure (Merseburger) = 83.2 liters
