The Homecoming Act is a law on relief measures for homecomers (HkG) passed for the Federal Republic of Germany on June 19, 1950, which was repealed by the German Bundestag on December 20, 1991.
The aim of this law was to promote the reintegration of returnees after January 1, 1947. The law regulates the continuation of employment relationships and the right to unemployment benefits.
Returnees within the meaning of the law were Germans who, due to their membership in a military association, had become prisoners of war, were released after May 8, 1945 and after this release had returned to the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany (old federal states) within two months.
