Heinrich I of Gorizia († October 10/11, 1148/1149) was Count of Gorizia .

Life

His parents were Meinhard I. von Görz and Elisabeth (Ellisa) von Schwarzenburg, daughter of Count Botho von Schwarzenburg (Bavaria) and his wife Petrissa. Heinrich I appears for the first time in 1139, together with his father Meinhard I, in a document from the Patriarch Pilgrim of Aquileia. After the death of his father around 1142 he took over the rule together with his brother Count Engelbert II . Heinrich was last mentioned in a document in 1147 as Vogt of Aquileia . Heinrich was probably unmarried as there is no evidence of a wife or children. In the contract of Ramuscello between his brother Engelbert II of Gorizia and the Patriarch of Aquileia of April 21, 1150 he is mentioned as deceased. Heinrich died in 1148/1149, according to the Aquileia Book of the Dead on 10/11. October. His brother, Count Engelbert II of Gorizia, continued to rule after him.
