Heinrich II of Waldeck

Heinrich II. Von Waldeck (* before 1214; † probably 1279 or around 1288) was a son of Count Heinrich I von Waldeck and Schwalenberg († before September 21, 1214) and his wife Heseke von Dassel († after July 25 1220). He came from the noble family Schwalenberg .

He embarked on a spiritual career and was canon of Paderborn and in 1236 provost of the Schildesche monastery . In 1247 he was first mentioned as Provost of Paderborn. When Bishop Simon was trapped for two years from 1254 during a feud with the Archbishop of Cologne, Heinrich administered the diocese and the bishopric. In 1275 he was relieved of his office on charges of misappropriating diocesan funds and became cathedral dean. In 1278 he was defeated in the election to Bishop of Paderborn . From 1279 he was provost again.
