Helgoland dictionary

The Helgoland dictionary is a dictionary of the Heligoland variety of the North Frisian language .

The dictionary was started by Willy Krogmann in 1950 on behalf of the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz . From 1968 Nils Århammar continued working on the dictionary for a short time after Krogmann died in 1967. After his retirement in 1996, he and his wife Ritva Århammar resumed work on the dictionary.

Five deliveries of the dictionary appeared between 1957 and 1968, giving the word range A to L. There is also a detailed introduction.
