Helmut Caspary (born January 24, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main , † February 2, 1985 in Eberbach ) was a German painter.

Life and work

All we know of the painter Helmut Caspary is that he moved to Neuenhain when he was four and lived there at Schulstrasse 4 until around 1963. The Bad Soden city museum has nine watercolors and pen drawings, but the creative person behind them remains hidden.

Caspary found the motifs for his work in Neuenhain and in the city center: the Batzenhaus in Neuenhain, Kurhaus and the Paulinenschlösschen in the city center as well as the idyllic Altenhain valley. From this time he also knew the Bad Soden artists Richard Schoenfeld and Maximilian Klewer . In 1942 he met the painter and sculptor Fritz Best from Kronberg; he could often be found in his studio. The painter Siegfried Reich an der Stolpe was also one of his painter acquaintances.

Research in connection with his later stay in Eberbach, produced more landscape and flower paintings in acrylic on canvas and cardboard. In his last place of residence, Eberbach, he gave painting and drawing courses at the adult education center. He was a member of the Künstlerclub eV Frankfurt as well as the Kunstverein Neckar-Odenwald eV
