Helmut Neubauer (General)

Helmut Neubauer (born July 8, 1941 in Trier ) is a major general a. D. the Bundeswehr . From 1991 to 1993 he was the first German commander of the Franco-German Brigade .

Professional background

Neubauer joined the Bundeswehr in 1961. After completing his mountain hunter training, he switched to the staff service, where he worked in various functions, including three years in the ministerial office of Federal Defense Minister Manfred Wörner as his adjutant from 1985 onwards . As commander of the Mountain Infantry Brigade 23 Bavaria Neubauer experienced the military restructuring after reunification.

From 1991 to 1993 Neubauer was the first commander of the Franco-German brigade. Most recently, Helmut Neubauer was deputy to the commanding general of the Eurocorps in Strasbourg.

After retiring from active service, Neubauer became the founding president of the Lions Club in Müllheim.

Neubauer is married and has three children.
