In this function he worked with Josef Staribacher , the ÖFVW chairman and trade minister until 1983. Zolles had completed his studies as a business graduate by 1967 and later earned a doctorate in economics. During his term of office, the second managing director of the ÖFVW was Frank Kübler, who was active in Austrian advertising until 1999 and also graduated from business studies. Zolles was assigned to the red half of the empire , Kübler to the black .

From 1987 onwards, Zolles was General Director of DDSG , the then state-owned Austrian Danube Steamship Company. In his later years, Zolles started his own business as an advertising and tourism consultant.
