Hemofarm AD is a pharmaceutical company in Serbia . Hemofarm was founded in 1960 in the Serbian city of Vršac . In 1982, Hemomed opened a new department for the production of dialysis machines. In 1990 Hemofarm was privatized. In 1991 Hemopharm GmbH was founded in Frankfurt am Main . In 2000, the company opened an infusion factory in China. Hemofarm has been listed on the Belgrade Stock Exchange since 2002. On August 9, 2006, the German Stada Arzneimittel became the majority owner of Hemofarm.
In 2007 the group with 3,230 employees generated a profit of approx. € 40.5 million with sales of € 226.7 million.
Hemofarm was a sponsor of the KK Hemofarm basketball team for years .
