Henri Michel (historian)
Henri Michel (born April 28, 1907 in Vidauban , France , † June 5, 1986 in Paris ) was a French historian of the 20th century. He dealt mainly with the history of the Second World War .
Michel was the founder and general secretary of the Comité d'histoire de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale (Committee for the History of the Second World War) and from 1950 editor-in-chief of the Revue d'histoire de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale, which he also founded . In 1967 he founded the Comité international d'histoire de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale (International Committee for the History of the Second World War), which brings together historians from 37 countries. From 1970 he was president of the committee for many years. As part of this activity, he developed the interdisciplinary research approach of histoire immédiate , the immediate history .
