Henrique (bishop)

Henrique Kinu a Mvemba († 1531 ) was the first native bishop of Black Africa.

Henrique was the son of the Congolese king Afonso I. He was ordained bishop in Rome in 1518. He got the titular bishopric Utica through Pope Leo X. In 1521 Henrique returned to his homeland.
