Henry Maier Festival Park
The Henry Maier Festival Park (aka Henry Maier Festival Grounds and Summerfest Grounds ) is a Festival Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . The park was named after Henry Maier (1918-1994), Milwaukee's longest-serving mayor.
history
The park has existed since 1927, when the Milwaukee Summerfest also takes place from 1968 . The festival was spread over 35 areas of the area and was a great success. In 1969, however, the festival was canceled due to poor weather conditions. Another publicity boost came with the opening of the Marcus Amphitheater . Other events that are held in the park are the African World Festival, the Arab World Fest , A sian Moon Festival , Festa Italiana , German Fest , Indian Summer Festival , Irish Fest , Labor Fest , Mexican Fiesta , Polish Fest and the PrideFestt .
