The Marcus Amphitheater is an outdoor stage in Milwaukee .
History
The outdoor stage is located at the south end of the Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . The theater was built after a concert by Huey Lewis and the News on the site, which had a capacity of 15,000 visitors in 1984. The event held more than 30,000 people, twice what was required. By the time the amphitheater was completed in 1987, a capacity of 25,000 was planned. The structure has since been owned by the Marcus Corporation , which also runs the open-air arena. The company named the building. Concerts by internationally successful artists such as Eric Clapton , Prince and the Rolling Stones took place here.
