Herbert Sivec

Herbert Sivec (born August 8, 1933 in Drautschen ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and federal civil servant . From 1986 to 1998 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

After primary school, Sivec attended secondary school and subsequently graduated from vocational school. In 1953 he entered the gendarmerie service and was later employed by the Austrian Armed Forces. From 1970 onwards, he became involved in local politics as a councilor in Groß-Enzersdorf , where he also took over the office of vice mayor between 1979 and 1982. In 1982 he was elected mayor of Groß-Enzersdorf, an office that he held until 1994. Furthermore, he was Vice President of the Lower Austrian Civil Protection Association from 1993 to 1999 and moved to the Lower Austrian Landtag on November 13, 1986 for Anton Fux , where he was a member of parliament until April 16, 1998.
