Anton Fux

Anton Fux (born January 18, 1923 in Hohenau an der March , † August 29, 1991 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and machinist. From 1976 to 1986 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria .

Fux completed elementary and secondary school before he was drafted into service between 1941 and 1942 during World War II and then had to do military service. He became a British prisoner of war and in 1947 took up a job as a machinist in the Hohenau sugar factory . There Fux was also involved as a works council, and from 1960 he also worked on the Hohenau municipal council . He subsequently held the office of mayor of Hohenau between 1967 and 1987 and represented the SPÖ Lower Austria between April 8, 1976 and November 13, 1986 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
