Hermann Bühler

Hermann Bühler (* 1962 in Näfels ) is a Swiss composer , musician and musicologist .

Life

Hermann Bühler lives in Zurich and works as a composer, instrumentalist, teacher and musicologist. Since 1984 he has been working as an alto and soprano saxophonist with improvisational music and free forms of expression. Hermann Bühler wrote compositions for different line-ups such as Lange Weile , Verlierter Gärten , Earth Bound , Seven Pieces and Kind . In it he deals with tone series, jazz styles, improvisation concepts and electronics.

As an instrumentalist he dealt extensively with Indian music. Bühler's music has appeared on several CDs. He was also instrumental in the publication of the book Your Own Voice and the accompanying CD WIM-Radiodays .

Most recently, Hermann Bühler has been working in Switzerland, Mexico and the USA. He composes music for film, dance and multimedia productions. This resulted in z. B. the productions Muros , Claustro Cyclo , 404 - Directions , Light Flashes , Mélange Étrange . Hermann Bühler runs the "Music & Art Edition Dreamscape".

Bühler performed at the Cervantino Guanajuato Festival (Mexico), at the Schaffhausen, Zurich and Willisau Jazz Festivals. He played for Radio DRS Zurich, Radio KPFK and KXLU Los Angeles.
