Hermann Bachmann (singer)
Carl Hermann Bachmann ( October 7, 1864 in Cottbus - July 5, 1937 in Berlin ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ) and director as well as a singing teacher .
Life
Bachmann, who first became a businessman, took singing lessons from Gustav Schmidt in Berlin. He made his debut in 1890 as a singer at the Stadttheater von Halle an der Saale, where he stayed until 1894. From 1894 to 1897 he worked at the Nuremberg City Theater. From 1897 to 1918 he joined the Association of the Berlin Court Opera, where he also worked as a director from 1910. Later he worked as a singing teacher.
His voice has been preserved on records.
