Ermenrich
Ermenrich (also Hermerich , Hermanaricus , span. And port. Hermerico * 360, † 441 ) was the first king of the Swabians in the territory of the former Roman province of Gallaecia , which lay in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. He ruled from 409 to 438.
It is said to come from Moravia and Upper Hungary / Danube, crossed the Rhine in 406 (see Rhine crossing from 406 ) and devastated Gaul . Under his rule, the Suebi settled in Galicia in 409 and founded the kingdom of the Suebi in 411 . Since 438 he was incapacitated because of illness .
Ermenrich was the father of King Rechila the Suebi ( Quaden ) (* around 400; † August 448) and Prince Hunimund (Danube-Suebi) "Filius Hermanarici" (* around 395; † after 469 in "Suavia"). Rechila conquered Baetica and Seville .
