Herrengeding
The Herrengeding , also called Vogtgeding , was a dish in the Middle Ages .
From the Middle Ages to around the French era , there were three types of courts in terms of jurisdiction, viz
- the jury ,
- the Vogt- or Herrengeding and
- the sending court .
At that time the landlord or, as a representative, the bailiff spoke right . It was mostly a nobleman .
The court called Vogt- or Herrengeding met less often than the other dishes, namely only once, rarely twice a year. The appointment was always set at short notice. It was announced in church for the coming Sunday . All residents were required to be present. Those who did not participate had to pay a fine.
These trials were always held outdoors. The wisdom was read first. The jury was then asked to report any violations of the regulations. Guilty parties were warned or punished.
