Herzog Albrecht Memorial Church
The Herzog-Albrecht-Gedächtniskirche was the church of the Protestant Uniate parish in the Maraunenhof district of the East Prussian city of Königsberg , it stood on König-Ottokar-Platz and was also called Maraunenhofer Church or New Tragheimer Church .
After a land society interested in the development of the district had approved a building cost subsidy in 1908, the foundation stone was laid on May 19, 1911 after a long planning phase . The church, built according to a design by the architects Mattar & Scheler , was inaugurated on January 12, 1913 and renamed the " Herzog-Albrecht Memorial Church" in 1933 for Luther's 450th birthday . The building suffered considerable damage in World War II and after 1945 it was left to decay without being used again. The ruined church was demolished in 1972.
