The Hesperus Nunatak is a pointed nunatak in the southeast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises 3 km southwest of Titania Peak and around 28 km west of the Venus Glacier .
The British Directorate of Overseas Surveys mapped it using satellite images from NASA . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the name of the Venus Glacier after Hesperus , the ancient name for the evening star .
